Below are scans of some
of the ornaments I've made up. I had more fun digging through old trim,
things I'd long forgotten and could now use. These are so light weight
and unbreakable--perfect for little hands to hang on the Christmas tree
or to tie on packages, not to mention all the other winter projects we
all like to do.
When you're ready to go
back to the Flakey Friends page, just close the window. |
| Get
out those scraps of trim you thought you would never use and have some
fun! Can you tell I did? |

 |
| Tex,
on the top left, has braid and rick-rack trim. Many combinations
will work well together.
Cozie, on the bottom left, has an
iridescent purple plastic beading trim. |
Stumpy, on the top
right, has a soft braid that looks just like frosting, with a slight
shimmer to it. I think this is one of my favorite trims.
The metallic gold plastic trim isn't
showing up too well, but it gives some shine to Shag, on the bottom
right. How about adding some crystals for some sparkle? |

Now Panzy, at the top
left, is not an oranment, but I slipped her in so you could see a
coaster. I sandwiched a layer of vinyl between the front and back
circles, so no wetness will leak through. The braid is perfect for this
application.
You could also just glue these circles
right over some craft foam or inexpensive coaster and then add trim
around the edge.
Shag, on the bottom left, has a yjmmy
multi-colored cording on top, with rick-rack on the bottom and
metallic gold, twisted cording in the middle. Picture does not do this
justice--really dressy!

| To
the right is Maizy. Seemed to me that pearls with that frosting-looking
trim would be just what she would choose, if she could talk. This one
just has to be for a little girl. |
