NECESSITIES TOTE

A perfect little purse for just the necessities. Great for travel through airports, at conferences or shopping, out for an evening and such. Three different flaps combined with your choice of fabrics, buttons, straps and bling-bling makes this a completely unique item you can dress up or down for yourself or for gifts.

Completed lined, this little tote has some great hidden features, too. During the embroidery process, an open pocket is sewn into the inside and within the back, outside caddy pocket is a divider, perfect to tuck away some hidden cash.

That back pocket can hold a cell phone, smart phone, pda, IPod and earbuds, small camera and extra media cards and other similar sized items.

Finished size of the tote is 7-3/4"H x 6-3/4" wide. Requires a 5"x 7" hoop.

3 different flap designs. Full picture, step-by-step instructions printed right from the website.

The above tote was made with the Flower Flap design. You can make a fabric strap, but I had fun finding creative alternatives. I used a purchased belt which can be used as a strap or use it for a fanny pack. Scroll down to see the fanny pack version modeled. You can also use a more traditional handle and, when needed slip any belt through the D-rings to make it a fanny pack, no hands and very secure yet accessible.

I added just a touch of bling-bling here. Pink crystal in the center of the flowers plus a glass button. The buttonhole is sewn during the embroidery process, but can easily be skipped if another type of fastener such as Velcro, loop or snap is preferred.

The Deco Flap design was used here. You can see I chose another great belt. Use it as a shoulder strap, pull up into a double hand strap or use it as a fanny pack. Another alternative is the cute little plastic handle I purchased at WalMart. Switch back and forth for different uses or a different look.
Yes, I do love bling-bling. I added crystal to the basket weave fill here. Had I used satiny fabrics and an elegant bit of cording for a strap, this would have been a fabulous evening bag. D-rings are optional so you can directly attach the straps, if preferred.
The Plain Flap design is a basic design for those who want feminine without too many frills. I used a purchased handle and attached it instead of D-rings. This whimsical creation could have easily been done with Oriental fabrics and some bamboo buttons for a completely different look using the same handle.

A tiny bit of bling on the flap and the center of the flowers on the fabric. Can't help myself!

Notice the front pocket. There are three different depths you can choose from, all based on how you cut the fabric during preparation. Full instructions tell you how to make this little tote to fit your exact needs and specifications.
Check out our model below wearing the Necessities Tote as a fanny pack. Thanks to my sweet, and very tiny, neighbor for helping me out. She arranged the tote so it was comfortable for her. With a belt you can adjust it so it is completely comfortable for you.
